Capturing Stories Together: A Collaboration with Anne Paar
Over the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with fellow dutchie and Raglan photographer Anne Paar. It’s a creative partnership built on shared values and a love for authentic visual storytelling.
As photographers, we each bring our own perspective and style to a project. Sometimes a brief calls for a fresh approach or a different visual language, and Anne’s work is often exactly what’s needed. I’ve always admired her light, fresh aesthetic, her eye for detail, and her natural ability to capture honest, meaningful moments. Her approach to storytelling feels genuine and deeply aligns with how I work creatively.
Our collaboration began when I was living in Taranaki and many of my clients were based in the Waikato. Working together allowed us to combine our strengths and deliver thoughtful, high-quality, on-brand imagery. I developed the brand identities and ensured the photography brief reflected each brand’s personality and tone. Once Anne created the content, I carried it through into website design and print materials. From the start, the process felt seamless.
More recently, we’ve been collaborating on ongoing campaigns for Christchurch-based children’s online store and product designer Classical Child. We work closely on each brief, and I support the projects as Creative Director. I join each shoot to capture video for reels and digital media and assist wherever needed. As you can imagine, juggling children, armfuls of product, and outdoor locations can be challenging, so having a seamless creative partnership makes all the difference.
Once the photography is complete, it’s over to me to bring everything together. I shape the visual direction, prepare the campaign assets, and share the work across digital channels and print to build brand awareness, drive traffic, and ultimately convert engagement into sales.
I truly love collaborating. Sharing a creative space with a like-minded creative like Anne is a dream, and one that continues to inspire and shape my work.
